One day a young lady
ageing about 25yrs of age landed in my clinic.
As soon as I called
her to my cabin, she started crying.
She was beautiful
young this made me think, why she is crying? What could be the cause? What, am I
can do for her? Does she have any marital problem or family problem? She does
not look like to be in extreme pain or sever problem. I gathered courage to ask
her excuse! Madam, what’s your problem? How I can help.
Doctor help me
please I did everything whatever I can do. I went to lot of doc but I am still suffering,
doc few day back I had lot of stress and problem. Since that time I am suffering.
Then she started give me a list of problem
My hair’s are falling,
itching on head some dandruff, I am suffering from low confidence and
inferiority complex because of this can you able to help me doc?
Oh! I took a relaxed
deep breath and told her not to worry. I started examining of head to determine
the cause of hair loss because hair can fall due lots of reason. First I tried
to see skin infection like dandruff, furuncles (boils on head), and eczema on
head, then I started to check her texture of hair, is they are dry or oily because
of nutritional problem hair can become listless, dry also. I thought she may be
suffering from anemia(less hemoglobin due iron or some other deficiency) anemia
is one of the commonest causes of hair loss.
I examined her for
any patch on scalp to rule out alopecia areat (patchy hair loss). I asked her
about her charms to know any hormonal problem. She has stress, which is number one
cause for hair loss.
I asked her how many
hair due you loose madam. Her answer was in bunches. It is normal for female to
lose around 50-100 hair /day. In some people there is tendency of pulling the
hair which can leads to hair loss. I looked for physical stress signs like
trauma medication, surgery. She was not obese so, asked her does she lost weight
or is there any fluctuation of weight in recent past to rule out thyroid problem.
Childbirth is another cause of hair loss.
After thinking all the possibilities and causes
I requested her to
1)
avoid rubbing her hair vigorously
2)
to put mild
shampoo
3)
don’t to
comb her hair when they are wet or too dry
4)
oily it
properly but not vigorously
I gave her nutritional advice and some medicine.
After taking medication for a year she is happy and married, looks stunningly beauty
with intact crowning glory.
